Privacy policy
Canadian privacy law
BD Micro Inc. is in Ontario. For customer personal information we collect in the course of our business, we follow the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). Ontario does not have a separate general privacy law for ordinary retail. Ontario’s Personal Health Information Protection Act covers health information held by health providers. It does not apply to a normal purchase from this store.
BD Micro does not sell customer information to any party.
What we collect
When you order, register, or contact us, we may collect your name, email address, mailing address, phone number, and the payment details needed to complete the order. If you send a gift, we collect the recipient’s name and delivery details so we can fulfill that order. We do not use gift-recipient details for marketing.
Why we collect it, and consent
We collect this information to process your order, deliver it, handle a return or the warranty stated on your invoice, answer your questions, and, only if you opt in, send promotional email. We identify that purpose when we collect it. We ask for your consent, except where the law allows collection, use, or disclosure without it. You can withdraw consent for promotional email by emailing sales@bdmicro.ca with the subject line OPT OUT. Withdrawing consent does not undo a completed sale or a record the law requires us to keep.
Only what we need
We collect only what we need for those purposes. We use and share it only for those purposes.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purpose we collected it. Order and payment records are also business records. The Canada Revenue Agency generally requires those records to be kept for six years from the end of the tax year they relate to. Some records must be kept longer, for example while a return, objection, or appeal is still open, or where the law says so. When we no longer need the information and the law does not require us to keep it, we delete it or remove the details that identify you.
Accuracy and safeguards
We keep personal information as accurate, complete, and up to date as necessary for the purpose. We protect it with safeguards appropriate to how sensitive it is, including a secure checkout connection.
Cookies
This site uses cookies. Cookies are small files stored by your browser. We use them to remember your cart, keep you signed in where an account is used, and understand how the site is used. The store runs on Shopify, which uses its own site measurement for that traffic. As of October 2, 2026, the public homepage was not loading a separate Google Analytics tag, a Meta pixel, or a similar third-party tracker. You can block or delete cookies in your browser. Some parts of the site, including the cart, may not work if you do.
Payment and other services
Checkout is handled through Shopify Payments. The payment choices shown on the site include Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Interac, JCB, PayPal, Shop Pay, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. Those services receive the payment details needed to take payment and reduce fraud. We also use Shopify to host the site and run the store. Service providers may use personal information only to do that work for us.
Access, correction, and deletion
You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it when we no longer need it for your order, the warranty on your invoice, a return, or a record the law requires us to keep. Email sales@bdmicro.ca. We may need to confirm it is you before we change or delete a record. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, which oversees PIPEDA.

Do we use "cookies"?
Yes. Cookies are small files that a site or its service provider transfers to your computer's hard drive through your Web browser (if you allow) that enables the site's or service provider's systems to recognize your browser and capture and remember certain information. For instance, we use cookies to help us remember and process the items in your shopping cart. They are also used to help us understand your preferences based on previous or current site activity, which enables us to provide you with improved services. We also use cookies to help us compile aggregate data about site traffic and site interaction so that we can offer better site experiences and tools in the future. We may contract with third-party service providers to assist us in better understanding our site visitors. These service providers are not permitted to use the information collected on our behalf except to help us conduct and improve our business.
You can choose to have your computer warn you each time a cookie is being sent, or you can choose to turn off all cookies. You do this through your browser (like Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer) settings. Each browser is a little different, so look at your browser Help menu to learn the correct way to modify your cookies. If you turn cookies off, you won't have access to many features that make your site experience more efficient and some of our services will not function properly. However, you can still place orders over the telephone by contacting customer service.
Do we disclose the information we collect to outside parties?
We do not sell customer information to any party. We do not trade or otherwise transfer your personally identifiable information to outside parties except as described on this page. The term "outside parties" does not include BD MICRO INC. (BD MICRO). It also does not include website hosting partners and other parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. We may also release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others' rights, property, or safety. However, non-personally identifiable visitor information may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising, or other uses.
Third party links
To provide you with increased value, we may include third party links on our site. These linked sites have separate and independent privacy policies. We therefore have no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these linked sites. Nonetheless, we seek to protect the integrity of our site and welcome any feedback about these linked sites (including if a specific link does not work).
Changes to our policy
If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on this page. Policy changes will apply only to information collected after the date of the change.
